GHANAIAN MUSIC – Pleasure to your ears

A number of styles are there of the music of Ghana, the main reason behind it is the geographical position of Ghana in the continent of Africa. Highlife was the most popular and was the most preferred music genera but after the arrival of the Hiplife and various other genres its popularity has diminished in the current music industry and among the music lovers. The traditional music of Ghana can be divided into two different geners according to the geographical location and the inhabitants of those regions. Hiplife- the newest genre of Ghanaian music 

By the end of the 1990s, a new genre of Ghanaian music was discovered and was named as the Hiplife. Hiplife was discovered by the new generation of artists. It is said that the originator of this very style is non-other than Reggie Rockstone who was a Ghanaian musician. Reggie Rockstone used to be a hip hop artist in the United States but after that he found out this unique Hiplife. Hiplife is just the hip-hop version in the dialect of Ghana and it is backed by the elements of traditional high life. This very genre was further popularised by artists who included Ex-doe and Tinny.
After that many of the stars have selected this genre and now are very successful in the musical industries some of the artists who have gained a fortune by opting Hiplife are R2bees, Reggie Rockstone, Tic Tac, Akyeame, Obrafour, Lord Kenya, Kwaw Kese, Sherifa Gunu, Ko-Jo Cue, Samini, Asem and many others. Producers who are responsible for making this genre of music so much popular includes Hammer of The Last Two, Panji Anoff, Jay Q, Zapp Mallet, Richie Mensah, Morris De Voice, EL, Killbeatz and Appietus.

Elorm Adablah (E.L.)        

EL who is a Ghanaian rapper is one of the most famous singers of Ghana. EL is the stage name of Elorm Adablah. He is also a sound engineer and record producer. He signed his very first album when he was in his first year in the university. EL was signed by the Jayso’s Skillions Records with various other talented young underground artists of Ghana such as Kevin Beats, Gemini, Lil Shaker and Killmatic. The very first album was a success. But after sometime when he graduated from the university, EL became a solo singer or artist as Skillions broke up. After that in Asylum Down he acquired a studio and started his work on a mix tape.

However because of some reasons the mix tape was never released. But it is assumed that if it would have been released than it would have been a great hit. Later on he acquired a new studio and relocated to the new studio to carry on the work. He also invested all his available money to get the state of the art equipment which disappointed his friends and family members as they were not very sure about his success in the music field. E.L songs are best in his respective genre. Presently he is working on the second studio album of his own and the album is entitled Elom.
